Installation

The Vault CLI is a single binary. Install it using the install script for your platform, or download the binary directly from the Downloads page.

Run the install script:

curl -fsSL https://download.veevavault.dev/cli/install.sh | sh

Run the install script in PowerShell:

irm https://download.veevavault.dev/cli/install.ps1 | iex

Both scripts support the following options.

Custom install directory: Set VAULT_INSTALL_DIR before running the script:

VAULT_INSTALL_DIR=~/bin curl -fsSL https://download.veevavault.dev/cli/install.sh | sh
$env:VAULT_INSTALL_DIR = "C:\Tools\vault"; irm https://download.veevavault.dev/cli/install.ps1 | iex

Specific release channel: Set VAULT_CHANNEL:

VAULT_CHANNEL=release curl -fsSL https://download.veevavault.dev/cli/install.sh | sh

Skip the install directory prompt: Pass -y (macOS/Linux) or -Yes (Windows) for non-interactive environments:

curl -fsSL https://download.veevavault.dev/cli/install.sh | sh -s -- -y
irm https://download.veevavault.dev/cli/install.ps1 | iex -ArgumentList '-Yes'

Direct binary downloads are available from the Downloads page for edge cases where the script cannot be used.

Confirm the CLI is on your PATH:

vault --version

You should see the installed version and platform printed, for example:

vault CLI 0.1.1 (darwin/aarch64)

Run vault upgrade to upgrade the CLI to the latest version in place.

To remove the CLI binary and all stored credentials:

vault uninstall

You will be prompted to confirm. To skip the prompt in a non-interactive shell:

vault uninstall --force
