Overview

The Vault CLI (vault) is a command-line tool for managing Veeva Vault. It lets you work with Vault configuration, data, and deployments from a terminal rather than the Admin UI, which makes it practical for scripting, version control, and automated pipelines.

With the Vault CLI, you can:

  • Pull Vault configuration to your local machine, edit it, and push it back to Vault.
  • See exactly what a push will change before running it.
  • Package configuration changes into a VPK for a controlled deployment process.
  • Query Vault data with VQL and get results as a table, JSON, or CSV.
  • Run MDL statements directly against a Vault.
  • Authenticate with an API access token for use in scripts and CI/CD pipelines.

The CLI supports N-2 General Releases. If your CLI version is ahead of your Vault's version, some features may not be available.
