Claude Desktop Setup

This section outlines how to connect the Vault Documentation MCP Server to Claude Desktop. You must have Claude Desktop installed before you start this tutorial.

To connect the Vault Documentation MCP Server to Claude Desktop:

1. Navigate to File > Settings > Developer.

2. Click Edit Config to create a new configuration file if one doesn't exist, or open your existing configuration. The file is located at:

   • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
   • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json

3. In the mcpServers section of the config file, add the following text, then save the file.

4. Select File > Exit to close Claude Desktop.

5. Reopen Claude Desktop and navigate to File > Settings > Developer. The vault-documentation-mcp server should be listed as running.
