# Manual Downloads

The Vault CLI binary is available for direct download for macOS, Linux, and Windows. Use this page if you prefer not to use the install script, or if you need a specific version for a controlled environment. For most developers, the [install script](/medical/vault-dx/cli/getting-started/installation/) is the faster path.

## Latest release

Download the current release for your platform. See  to confirm the checksum before installing.

## Specific version

Replace `latest` in any of the URLs above with a version like `v0.1`, for example:

```
https://download.veevavault.dev/cli/releases/v0.1/vault-linux-x86_64
```

## Verifying your download

Each release publishes a `manifest.json` alongside the binaries with SHA256 checksums:

```
https://download.veevavault.dev/cli/releases/latest/manifest.json
```

Compare the checksum for your platform against your downloaded file:

```sh
shasum -a 256 vault-linux-x86_64
```

## After downloading

Make the file executable and move it onto your `PATH`:

```sh
chmod +x vault-linux-x86_64
mv vault-linux-x86_64 /usr/local/bin/vault
vault --version
```
